Wellington Catholic Stands in Solidarity with our Muslim Community
The recent hate-motivated violence towards members of the Muslim community in London, Ontario has left many shocked and deeply disturbed. Members of our local Muslim community have also experienced Islamophobia, discrimination and forms of violence at times and these types of actions have no place in our society.
The Wellington Catholic District School Board stands against all forms of hate, violence, and religious persecution. A core tenet of our Catholic social teachings is the sacredness of human life. We would like to express our deep sadness to those impacted by this senseless act of violence. We share our grief and stand in solidarity with our greater Muslim community in response to this incident.
We pray for peace and strength for the families impacted by this tragedy, and for understanding and love in our community.
